Craig Foley reports from the Chard Flyer:

“The 2019 Somerset Series got underway on New Year’s Day when 6 members of Wells City Harriers took part in The Chard Flyer, an undulating 10k road race starting in the towns Stringfellow Park and taking in a loop around Chard Reservoir.

The race was won by Wells City Harriers' Christian Green, following up on his success as last year’s overall Series winner, in a magnificent time of 34:54, to win by 23 seconds.

Top 10 finishes were also secured by George Mallinson (38:13) and Ed Stahl (39:18) who finished 4th and 7th respectively, while Justin Thomas (42:36 21st), Graham Goldsmid (44:29 30th) and Craig Foley (45:58 42nd) all recorded good times that saw them finish high up among the 191 finishers in total."
