Some results for League placings now online on Gwent League website (17th Oct) Well done all, especially u13 Jack Harvey, 4th overall but 1st in the League, and u15 Hannah Blundy, top ten finisher overall, 4th in the League.(* note, not all of the competitors are listed on the Gwent League standings as some just entered the British Cross race and vice-versa (see lists here) which was embedded in the League race - in time the power of ten results wll probably try & combine both sets!)

Mendip Muddle Fell Race

Meanwhile the Harriers sent a squad of five to the tough Mendip Muddle Fell Race this past Sunday. Covering 12 miles and 1600 feet of climb, with heavy rain and a strong breeze to contend with, this was not for the feint hearted. There was plenty of mud and slippy sections as the race set off from Charterhouse to climb into the mist-shrouded higher reaches and to the highest point on the Mendips, before winding down and back up on its way back to the finish.

Christian Green continued his fine run of form when he finished 2nd in 1.26 this year which adds to his recent finishes of 3rd (2015); 2nd (2016); and 3rd (2017) at this particular event! Oli Frost gained his highest ever place here in 7th place in 1.32. Then Jonathan Davies was 71st in 1.53 with; Paul Chadwick, running this race for the 13th time, was 83rd in 1.57; Nick Weaving 101st in 2.01. There were 222 finishers.

Eden Project Half Marathon

Down in a slightly drier Cornwall there was also a contingent of senior Harriers running at the Eden Project half marathon on Sunday with Harriet Burr first home for the Club in 1.56 (244th), followed by Andrew Pate 1.57 (260th) and Alice Knight 2.04 (351st). There were 842 finishers.
