May is another busy month for the Harriers. The Track and Field Leagues get underway this weekend (5th/6th May). The County Track & Field Championships take place on the weekend of 12th/13th May. We have two teams of seniors competing at the 100km Wessex Ridgeway on 20th May. The Club's AGM takes place at Wells Rugby Club on the evening of 23rd May. The latest Harriers 'Couch to 5k' programme also concludes that evening. We are supporting the local committee, made up mainly of Harriers, at the annual Wells Fun Run on Sunday 27th May. And there is a chance to raise money for a good cause and maybe win a signed TeamGB shirt with a raffle! Read on.

Track & Field Competitions

British League match this Saturday, 5th May, followed by South West League Match on Sunday. For some there is the British Milers Club meeting on Saturday evening at Millfield. Wells City Harriers AGM - Wednesday 23rd May

Founded in 1981, this will be the 36th AGM of the Harriers. It is the opportunity to hear a report on the Club's activities, hear about the finances of the Club, and elect a new committee for the 2018/19 year. There will also be an opportunity to congratulate some of the award winners for the year.

Harrier teams at Wessex Ridgeway Relay - Sunday 20th May

Nick Weaving has assembled two teams of senior athletes for this 100km off-road race. Paul Chadwick is now assembling two teams for the 103 mile Cotswold way Relay to take place on Saturday 30th June. Contact him asap if you want to be in one of the teams!


Wells Fun Runs - Sunday 27th May

As usual there are races for all ages from age 8 upwards to a full 10k race. Sign up now to avoid last minute hiccups. Sign up online to enter.

If you aren't competing at the Fun Runs then please sign up by contacting Julia Dukes, Lynne Elstob or Sharon Bowles to offer your time to help.




The framed shirt is signed by Iwan Thomas and Linford Christie. A raffle will be held with the draw taking place immediately after the Wells Fun Run. Cost of raffle tickets £1 and can be obtained at training over the next few weeks; at the AGM; and at the Wells Fun Run. The Shirt has been obtained by our marathon man Matthew Dorber and all proceeds will go to a worthy cause = the National Animal Welfare Trust.
